How Many Lymphatic Drainage Sessions Do You Actually Need?
This one depends entirely on why you're booking — so let's walk through the most common scenarios.
For General Wellness & Maintenance
If you're coming in for general puffiness, a monthly reset, or as part of your regular self-care routine, many clients find a session every 3-4 weeks fits well alongside their normal rhythm — similar to how you might think about a facial or a regular massage.
For Post-Surgical or Post-Procedure Support
This is where a series tends to matter most. Depending on the procedure and your surgeon's guidance, some clients benefit from more frequent sessions in the earlier weeks of recovery, tapering off as swelling subsides. This should always be coordinated with your surgeon's post-op instructions — I'm happy to work alongside whatever timeline they've recommended. Typically this looks like 2 per week for the first month, then 1 per week for the next month to 1 every 2 weeks for the third - 6 months.
For a Specific Short-Term Goal
Preparing for an event, recovering from a long flight, or working through a particularly puffy or congested stretch? A short series of 2-3 sessions spaced closer together (weekly) tends to build on itself more than a single stand-alone visit.
How to Decide
Honestly, the easiest way to figure out the right cadence is to talk it through at your first visit. I'll ask about your goals, any relevant medical history, and what you're hoping to feel or see, and we can map out a plan from there — no pressure to commit before you know how your body responds.
This is general guidance, not medical advice. Always follow your physician's or surgeon's specific post-procedure recommendations.
